I've been practicing dentistry in Nashville for more than two decades. Along the way, I've earned a reputation for being particular about the work I put my name on. The standard I bring as the official cosmetic dentist for the Tennessee Titans is the same one I apply to every case: elite expectations, zero patience for anything that doesn't hold up.

This town and I have history, and I love making this caliber of care a convenient fit for Nashville's busy lives and schedules. Back in 2015, that's what inspired me to open a practice in one of our most vibrant neighborhoods. Let me tell you about it.

The Vision

Betting on a Different Kind of Dentist's Office

The Gulch itself was changing fast. Old warehouses turning into offices and lofts, a wave of young professionals moving to town for jobs, an exciting music and food scene. But the dental options for that crowd hadn't caught up. You could get competent care in the Gulch, and you could get a nice-looking office, but rarely both in the same place, and rarely with the kind of communication that makes you feel like a person instead of a chart number.

So I built Gulch Dental Studio on a simple idea: make the design of the experience as exceptional as the clinical work. Premium materials, natural light, stylish decor, a team that actually listens. This office works with Macstudio at MicroDental Laboratories, the same lab I trust for the veneers that keep NFL smiles camera-ready. To run it day to day, I brought in Dr. Scott Harris, who shares the same obsession with getting the small things right. It all sounds obvious written down. It is shockingly rare in practice.

A lot of our patients are exactly who you'd expect to find in this neighborhood: people in their late 20s and 30s, building a career, showing up to interviews and first dates and client dinners, aware that their smile is doing some quiet work that matters. You've probably put real thought into your haircut, your wardrobe, and your coffee shop of choice. It's not vanity to want your smile to match that effort. It's just consistency.

"Accessible Luxury" Isn't a Contradiction

I want to be straight about something, because it's the part people are most skeptical of when they first walk in: this office looks like it costs more than it does. That's on purpose, and it's the whole point. Good design and thoughtful care shouldn't be reserved for people who can drop cash without thinking about it. We accept insurance, our rates are in line with far less polished offices around town, and we have financing options and a savings plan for people opting out of dental insurance. We'll talk about cost before we do anything, not after.

What we won't do is cut the parts that actually make a difference in your outcome: the digital imaging, the top-of-the-line materials, the time it takes to get a shade or a fit right. This office delivers work that holds up and a visit you don't dread repeating.

The Boutique Hotel Test

I love a boutique hotel that gets it right. Not the ones chasing "flashy," but the ones where somebody clearly sweated over every detail in ways that just feel intentional, expressive, and absolutely right. The lighting, the check-in, the person who remembers your name the second time. You leave feeling like you got more than you paid for, even though you paid a fair amount, and none of it felt like showing off. It just worked.

That's the bar I hold this practice to: not luxury for luxury's sake, but for the person with discerning taste and an appreciation for the fine details that make time spent into an experience. If a piece of technology or furniture in our lobby isn't earning its keep, it doesn't stay in my practice. I'd rather invest in things you'll actually feel: a scan that makes sense to both you and your dentist, an amenity that brings real comfort, a straight answer about your treatment plan.

None of this makes us the cheapest dentist in Nashville, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. What I will say is that every dollar you spend here is doing something for you: optimizing how your teeth function, how they look, and how little you have to think about them once you leave. That's the whole trade we're offering: a little more thought up front, in exchange for a result you're actually glad you paid for.
