Creating Balance After Invisalign
This patient had completed Invisalign treatment with another provider, but several spaces remained between the front teeth. Orthodontic treatment can improve tooth position, but it cannot change the natural size, shape, or proportions of the teeth. In some cases, closing every space with movement alone can compromise the final balance of the smile.
The patient also had an existing crown on the upper left lateral incisor, known as tooth number 10, that needed to be replaced. Rather than treating that tooth alone, we replaced the crown and added three porcelain veneers to the adjacent front teeth.
Treating four teeth allowed us to close the remaining spaces while improving symmetry, shape, and proportions across the center of the smile. Because the surrounding teeth were healthy and attractive, the new porcelain needed to integrate naturally rather than make the restored teeth look noticeably different.
Combining Treatments Creates Seamless Results
Many patients worry that veneers will look fake. Natural results come from careful treatment planning, conservative preparation, and close collaboration with a highly skilled cosmetic dental laboratory. Color is only one part of the process. Translucency, texture, contours, and the way porcelain reflects light are equally important.
The final restorations blend seamlessly with the patient’s natural teeth, creating a balanced result without making the smile look overtreated.
